Adam Malik Hospital and IMS Veteran clinic. Early syphilis diagnosis was established through history, physical examination, and VDRL/TPHA serological examination. The number of CD4 and CD8 cells was calculated by the fluorescence-activated cell sorter (Facs).

Results

The results showed a weak negative correlation between the number of CD4 cells and early syphilis stadium (R: -0.376, P: 0.053). This indicates that the higher the syphilis stage, the number of CD4 cells tends to decrease. On the other hand, a very weak positive correlation was found between the number of CD8 cells and early syphilis stadium (R: 0.113, P: 0.575). This correlation is classified as weak and not statistically significant.
