We estimate the relationship between government expenditure, exchange rates, and per capita income with inflation in North Sumatra. Our results show that government spending in the previous year and the exchange rate have a positive effect on inflation in North Sumatra, while government expenditure this year and per capita income have a negative influence on inflation in the province.

Meanwhile, per capita income, despite having a negative influence on inflation, must still be a focus in economic planning to improve the welfare of the community. This research is expected to provide insight and information that is useful for policymakers and researchers in the economic field.
