Identification of Potential Job Dangers in Inpatient Installation Nurses in Cibubur Drug Dependency Hospital in 2018

Introduction

Working in a hospital, especially for nurses in the Inpatient Installation (Envy) of the Jakarta Drug Dependency Hospital, is a challenging and potentially hazardous job. Nurses are exposed to various risks and dangers that can affect their health and safety. Identifying potential hazards is crucial to create a safe work environment, reduce the risk of accidents, and improve the health and safety of nurses. This study aims to identify the potential hazards faced by nurses during their duties in the Cibubur Drug Dependency Hospital in 2018.

Methodology

A descriptive survey method was employed in this study, which included observations and direct interviews with 37 nurses in the jealousy. Data was collected using a previously prepared potential hazard identification form. The survey aimed to identify the types of hazards faced by nurses during their routine activities.

Results

The results of the study showed that there were six types of hazards identified from nine routine nurses activities, namely:

Physical hazards: These include risks associated with physical injuries, such as falls, cuts, and bruises.
Biological hazards: These include risks associated with the transmission of diseases, such as HIV, hepatitis, and tuberculosis.
Chemical hazards: These include risks associated with exposure to chemicals, such as cleaning agents and medications.
Ergonomic hazards: These include risks associated with repetitive strain injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and back pain.
Psychosocial hazards: These include risks associated with stress, anxiety, and burnout.
Mechanical hazards: These include risks associated with equipment and machinery, such as falls from ladders and injuries from heavy equipment.
